Abi Bassler Averitt, SME, CST, CMT, IDME, is a bodyworker and Somatic Movement Educator. She is certified in a number of healing arts including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Body Mind Centering®, Feldenkrais®, Infant Developmental Movement Education and Massage. She has been a student of movement arts and bodywork for over 15 years.
Abi graduated from Massage school in 1996. Since then she has devoted her life to the study and practice of healing arts. She is certified as a Massage Therapist, a Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapist, a Somatic Movment Educator through the School for Body Mind Centering, a Feldenkrais Practitioner and an Infant Developmental Movement Educator. She is also trained as a Beginner Level 3 in the Somatic Experiencing work of Peter Levine.
She has worked extensively with prenatal and postpartum moms and babies and is passionate about supporting infants in their developmental journey. She works regularly with people with disabilities and is committed to helping those with autoimmune diseases to discover greater ease, function and movement potential. She specializes in Deep Tissue Massage and loves to work with a broad range of clients from infants to tri-athletes, elders and expecting parents.
She spends much of her day running after her toddler Jude and when alone she enjoys swimming, running, cycling, reading, meditation and watching clouds.
Other forms of bodywork that have informed her work include Zero Balancing, Structural Integration and Continuum Movement.
